However, you will probably want to use unique graphics on your website so that you can be sure that they reinforce your unique marketing message.

A graphic designer using software like Adobe PhotoShop or Macromedia Fireworks can produce original artwork. Alternatively, you may want to pay an artist or a photographer to produce pictures for you. The photographs and artwork produced can be scanned to make the required graphics files, which you can then insert onto your web pages.

However you source your artwork you must make sure that the web pictures produced are saved as either GIF or JPEG pictures. All graphics-capable browsers support these tow formats and display them without problems. Other formats do exist for the web (TIFF, PCX, BMP, and PNG) but helper applications are necessary for them to be displayed properly.

Note: You should stick mostly to GIF, JPEG and possibly PNG formats for your website.

Inserting Pictures from the Current Web

For ease of use, once you have sourced your pictures, you should import them to the subfolder of your web called Images. Once the pictures have been imported to the Images subfolder, they are easy to insert.

Note: To import images to your web, from the File menu, select Import, Add file and select the pictures you want to import. This may already have been done for you.

  • In Page view, place the insertion point where you want the picture to be displayed
